John Mercer Pitts, Jr., 67, of Suffolk, VA died October 18, 2008. A native of Supply, VA he was the son of the late John Mercer Pitts, Sr. and Sallie Carter Pitts. He was also predeceased by his daughter Tina M. Pitts. John was a driver for Webb's Transportation.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Tina M. Pitts of Suffolk; daughters Teresa A. Pitts of Carrollton and Gina L. Crocker of Suffolk; son John M. Pitts, III of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters Goldie, Imogene, Nellie and brother Larry.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive Suffolk, VA with Chaplain Pete Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
