John Dorsey Moore, Sr., age 89, a native of Hobbsville, NC,
died October 16, 2006 in Suffolk, VA. He retired as a
Toolworker for the Naval Air Station and was a U. S. Army
Veteran after serving in World War II. John was the son of
the late Frank and Roxie Moore.

He was survived by his wife of 60 year, Helen Mathias
Moore; sons and daughter-in-law, John D. Moore, Jr. and
Wilbur L. and Deborah L Moore, all of Suffolk; grandsons,
Robert Moore, Allen Moore and his wife Michelle; great
grandchild Elizabeth Faye Moore; brothers, Frank, Robert
and William Moore.


A graveside service will be held Friday, October 20, 2006
at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Roger D.
Johnson officiating. Friends may join the family Thursday
night at Parr Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times
at the residence and the home of Wilbur Moore at 118
Beechwood Dr., Suffolk, VA. Condolences may also be
