John "Jack" D. Seldon, 83, passed away on Sunday February 18, 2007 in his home in Suffolk. He was born January 10, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Mae Brown Seldon and Charles Leonard Seldon. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Eileen Seldon. He was a member of Lynnhaven Colony Congregation Church (UCC). He retired as the Assistant District Director, Norfolk District for U. S. Customs Service. He was a U. S. Navy veteran after serving during WWII.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Helen H. Seldon of Suffolk, VA; daughters, Sandy Simmons of CA, Laura Hoots (Leon) of Virginia Beach; sons, Bob Seldon (Lisa Walker) of OR, Kevin Seldon (Nancy) of Virginia Beach, VA; step-children, Kendall Bradshaw (Scott), of Portsmouth, VA, Richard Cutchins (Rene' Hall) of KS, and Robert Cutchins (Jamie Rolison) of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Ryan Simmons, Lauren Seldon, Keith and John Cutchins, Robbie and Helen Anne Bradshaw.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 6 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Rev. Valerie Coe Lowder officiating. Following the service friends may also join the family for a time of visitation from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
