John Wade "J.W." Hamilton, Jr., 87, of Suffolk, VA passed away on February 18, 2011 . A native of Nansemond County, VA, he was the son of the late John W. Hamilton, Sr. and Sylvia Smith Hamilton. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Mary Elizabeth Crutchfield Hamilton. J.W. was a 1943 graduate of Holland High School. John retired from farming and was U.S. Navy W.W.II veteran. He was a lifetime member of Holy Neck Christian Church and a Deacon, member of Men's Bible class and served on numerous the boards within the church. A life member and Past President of the Holland Hunt Club and a member of Woodman Of The World and Sons Of The Confederate Veterans Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters Camp #3000.

John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sylvia Hamilton and C. McCoy Simpson of Suffolk,VA; grandson , Craig Wade Simpson and wife Kim of Mechanicsville,VA; great grandchildren, Krista, Taylor ,Grace ,and J.W. ; step great grandchildren ,Jennifer and Lindsey; sister, Miss Mary Edith Hamilton of Suffolk,VA and adopted family ,Theresa ,Brian ,Matthew, Stephanie and Michael Grenon.

A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held Wednesday February 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at Holy Neck Christian Church, with the Rev. Reggie Warren officiating.
