John Elbert Barrow, 82, of Suffolk, VA went to be with his HEAVENLY FATHER, Friday, July 7, 2023.  John was born November 24,1940 in Chowan County, North Carolina to the late Erie F. Barrow and Neva Winslow Barrow.  John is predeceased by his wife of 36 years Eunice Lewis Barrow and his son, Kevin Wayne Barrow and sister, Betsy B. Overman.

John was retired as an inspector for VDOT. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was also a member of The Suffolk Moose Lodge #141.

Left to cherish his memory are his son and wife, Andrew "Andy" Lewis and Connie Barrow; grandchildren, Emaline and Cillian Barrow; sister and husband, Connie and Thomas Harrell; and nieces and nephew.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Burt Pearce officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 7-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hillcrest Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
