John Daniel "Jack" Barr, 90, passed away on December 9, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Patrick and Margaret Barr. He is also predeceased by his wife, Florence McGill "Penny" Barr and brother, James Barr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII in Company A, 511 Parachute Infantry and also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Jack retired as a Longshoreman from Markey & Sons. He was a member of Cedar Point Country Club, where he was an avid golfer and always scored under his age or better.

Jack is survived by daughters, Jennifer Rapp (Richard) and Caroline Barr (Jonathan Sherman); sons, Patrick Barr and John Barr; grandchildren, Caroline, Elizabeth, Taylor, Richard and Jack; sister, Margaret Spollen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack's celebration of life service will be December 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Fred Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be registered at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
