Joel Sidney Davis, Sr., 85, of the 1500 block of Art Court died April 13, 2016 at his residence.

A native of Suffolk, he retired as a foreman from the Lipton Tea Company after 35 years and was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Davis was the son of the late Ollie Burton Davis and Edna Moring Schofield Davis. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Hurley Davis, and brother, O. Burton Davis, Jr. He served as an Airman 1st Class during the Korean War.

Survivors include son Joey Davis (Sharon); daughters Debbie Bowden (Talmadge), Terri Groenestyn (John) and Lynn Gigliotti (Tony); grandchildren Christopher Davis, Zachary Davis, George Bowden, Neysa Bryant, Jennifer Carlson, Ashley Credle, Lacey Thodos, Brianna Gigliotti and David Gigliotti; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 3 pm in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Myrtle Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
