Joel Christopher Copeland, 55, of Chesapeake, VA passed away February 10, 2016. He was born in Nansemond County, VA to the late Valand Joseph Copeland, Sr. and Josephine Goodwin Copeland. He worked as an electrician for NASSCO in Norfolk. Joel was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church.

Joel is survived by his sister, Dianne C. Alexander and husband, Reg; brothers, Valand J. Copeland, Jr., Jimmie G. Copeland and wife, JoAnne, Joey D. Copeland and wife, Sue, and David N. Copeland, and wife Crystal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church, 306 Williams Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434, with Rev. Reginald Alexander officiating.
