Jobie Daniel Davis, Sr., 93, of Smithfield, VA passed away January 21, 2009. He was born in Lake City, FL the son of the late Sally and Jobie Davis. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Huggard Davis, and his son, Jobie Daniel Davis, Jr. A United States Navy veteran, he served in the submarine service during WWII. After more than 30 years as an electrician, he took up a second career as a farmer. Jobie was a member of I.B.E.W. Hartford Local #35 and The National Blueberry Association.

Jobie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Frances J. Davis of Smithfield, VA; daughter Pamela Anne Gagnon of Norwich, CT; sons, Jeffrey D. Davis of Denver, CO, and Bruce M. Davis of Rochester, NY; step daughter, Francine Price of Smithfield, VA; step sons, Tom Turner of Smithfield, VA, Jerry G. Turner of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Janet, Jeffrey Jr., Justin, Bruce Jr., Sarah, Jessica, Elizabeth; step grandson, Van; sister, Eula Studstill of Lakeland, FL, and brother, Monroe Greene of Columbia, SC.
