Jesse Earl Byrum, 82, passed away December 2, 2025.  He was born in Corapeake, NC the son of the late Elgin W. Byrum and Erma Lee E. Byrum.  He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Britt.  Jesse retired as a pipefitter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  He was a lifetime member of the Pipefitters Local #272.  He was also a member of the Portsmouth Moose Lodge #898 and Pilgrim of the Order Moose Lodge.

Jesse is survived by his longtime companion, Lois Marshall; children, Trudy Harris Reis (Brian) and John Hunter Marshall (Judy); grandchildren, Brandon L. Harris (Tori), Hailey H. Johnson (Cody), Lauren Reis, Nathan Marshall, Gavin Marshall, and Leyda Sanders; great grandchildren, Vivian Harris and Valerie Harris; special cousin, Sabra Miller; and nephew, Julian White.

A funeral service with Pilgrim Moose Rites will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with David Pugh officiating.  Burial will be private at Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Monday, December 8, 2025 from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation and Eureka Baptist Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
