Jerry Thomas Banton, 62, passed away March 14, 2024. He was born in Nansemond County, Virginia, the son of Ethel Watts Banton and the late Thurman Wiley Banton. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Steve Banton, and brother-in-law, Thomas Hyatt, Jr. Jerry was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his sister, Wanda B. Hyatt; brothers, Alan Wayne Banton (Donna), Ronald M. Banton (Debby), and Donald M. Banton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Micah Voight officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Western Branch Baptist Church.
