Jean Leggett's Obituary
E. Jean Griggs Leggett, 71, passed away December 25, 2017. She was born in Norfolk, VA the daughter of the late Thad Griggs and Elizabeth D. Jones. She was also predeceased by her stepfather, Clarence Jones; husband, Henry E. Leggett, Sr., and brother, J. L. Griggs. Jean formerly worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Women of the Moose.
Jean is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Donna Edwards (Red), Dorothy Leggett; son, Henry Leggett, Jr.; grandchildren, Rick, Devin, Tyler, Jenna, Jonathan, and Amber; numerous great grandchildren; and brother, Edward Griggs.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Ben Fulton officiating. Burial at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery will be private. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
