Janet Erwin, age 81 of Zuni, Virginia, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.  She passed into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Norfolk after a brief illness.  She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jesse Erwin.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years, J.M. Erwin, Sr.; sons Jay (Joanna), Zuni; Tommy (Sonya), Suffolk; Chris (Rita), Scottsville; Sam (Melia), Zuni.  She leaves an amazing heritage of love and faith to her twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren whom she adored.  She also leaves a brother Skip (Lynn), Pascagoula, Mississippi, and sister Mary Alyce Gaskin, Slidell, Louisiana.
The family will welcome friends on Thursday, November 2, from 11:00 a.m. until noon, when we will celebrate and remember her life during a funeral service with Lindsay Poteat and Chris Erwin officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
