Obituary

Jane Caven Brown, 61, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She passed away peacefully on June 13, 2021 surrounded by family.  She was born in Portsmouth, VA the daughter of the late Lawrence Caven and Rita Cadden.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, CJ Brown; children: Johnnie Brown, Jessica Vick (Steve), Jenny Huff (Chad); grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Cohen, Felicity, Taylor, and Amelia; sisters: Joy Ayers (David), Dawn Honeycutt (Jay), Rita Caven; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane worked as a production planner for U.S. Gypsum Company and retired after 35 plus years of service.  She enjoyed traveling, caring for her flower gardens, birds, and her pets, Ladybug and Judy.  Our sweet "Janie" will always be remembered for her kind, gentle, yet strong spirit.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating.  Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America at www.Lupus.org .
