James Wilson "JW" Mathias, Jr. 62, passed away September 3, 2021.  He was born in Nansemond County, VA the son of Frances Geneva Carpenter Mathias and the late James Wilson Mathias, Sr.  James worked as a talented painter and took pride in his work.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by his daughters, Jamie and Katelyn; brothers, Marty Mathias, George Michael Mathias (Ruth); sister, Darlene F. Doughton (Dan); and nephews, Joseph, Eric, and Jacob Hedgepeth.
