James "Choke" William Stafford, 95, passed away August 29, 2021.  He was born in Perquimans County, NC the son of the late Will and Jane Stafford.  He was predeceased by his sister, Annie Lee Stafford Warden.  James was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later went on to work and retired as a Lead Blending Technician in the Blending Department at Lipton Tea Company.  He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church.

James is survived by his wife of 70 years, Grace Marie Stafford; daughter, Nancy Christine Taylor (L.B.); son, James Randolph Stafford; granddaughter, Christy L. Brinkley (Chris); and great grandchild, Kendall A. Brinkley.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with military honors.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
