James Allen Wilkins, 80, passed away December 14, 2024.  He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Will Dennis Wilkins and Mary Elizabeth Brinkley Wilkins.  Allen was predeceased by his siblings, Peggy Wilkins, Joe Wilkins, and Dot Savage.  He attended Southside Baptist Church.  Allen was an Army National Guard Veteran.

Allen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Roberts Wilkins; daughters, Tammy Jordan (Joe), and Kelly Frizzell (Joe); grandchildren, Kaylee and Devin Frizzell; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Sam.

Allen started his career at Newport News Shipbuilding then enlisted in the Army National Guard.  He went on to be a Suffolk Firefighter and finished his career as a Painting Contractor.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Phil Lilly officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held at a later date at Albert G.
