James Ray White, 84, of Suffolk, VA passed away September 21, 2014. He was born in Corapeake, NC to the late Emmitt and Bessie Ward White. He is also predeceased by his wife of 55 years Peggy Ellis White, two sisters and four brothers. James retired from VDOT as a mechanic shop foreman. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

James is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy W. and Wayne New and Donna W. and Thomas Odom; son, Tony Ray White; grandchildren, Allen New, Henry White, James White, and Taylor Fischer; and sister, Virginia Carter.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd, Suffolk, VA 23435 with Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434.
