James Thomas Smith, 65 of Chesapeake, VA passed away on May 29, 2008. A native of Norfolk County, VA he was the son of the late James Allen Smith. He was a first class electrician and motor rewinder with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and other local shipyards.

James is survived by his mother; Elizabeth Lunette Bragg Smith of Chesapeake; a brother, Robert Smith of Suffolk, a niece, Troy Rapoport and a nephew, Michael Smith of Chesapeake.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, 4210 Dock Landing Road, Chesapeake, VA 23321, with the Rev. George Mullinax officiating. Friends may join the family preceding the service from 2:00 - 2:30 p.m. for visitation.
