James "Jake" Quincy Cobb, 86, passed away August 3, 2015. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC the son of the late Arthur Buck Cobb and Myrtie Tant Cobb. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Jake later went on to work as a carpenter. He was a member of Windsor's Purdie Masonic Lodge # 170 where he served as a Past Master. He was a 32nd KCCH degree member of the Portsmouth Scottish Rites and a member of the York Rites Mt. Nebo Royal Arch Chapter #20. Jake also served as a Former District Deputy Grand Master and recently received his 50 year lifetime membership certificate.
Jake is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jacquelyn Marsh Cobb; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra B. and Todd Rose, Deborah A. Cobb; son and daughter-in-law, James Michael Cobb and Cindy Lee Cobb; grandchildren, Melissa B. Pierce, Jason Bailey, Joshua Kyle Cobb, Mason Lee Cobb, Kristina Canfield, and Kendall Rose; great grandchildren, Carson and Kayden Pierce; sister, Ruth C. Sowers; and special friend, Jennifer Pitts.
A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.
