It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of James Pierpont Morgan III, of Suffolk, Virginia on November 26, 2024, at the age of 59.  He was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina and spent most of his adult life in High Point, North Carolina.

James will be missed and lovingly remembered by his partner, Kathy Nuckols; sister, Gina Morgan Kerr, and numerous family members and friends.

James was predeceased by his parents, James Pierpont Morgan II and Mary Lou Batson Morgan Seward, and step-father, John David Seward.

He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, and a volunteer with the CAPS program (Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk).  His desire was to help others in need.  Before his battle with cancer prevented him from participating, he was active in the Men Ready Ministry and attended the SBC Men's Outdoorsman Group.  He lovingly volunteered in the SBC kitchen preparing Wednesday night meals and food for special events.

James was gifted with many skills which allowed him to work in numerous fields throughout his life.  He was extremely fond of music and enjoyed many hours listening to the radio in his shop.  He had a knack for remembering facts and would share his knowledge with anyone.  He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his newfound faith in Jesus and his desire to share the Gospel. Although no longer amongst us, his spirit and love for the Lord will continue to inspire and uplift others.  May his memory be a blessing to encourage you to share your faith.

The 'Celebration of Life' to honor James will be held on December 8, 2024, at 1:00, in the Multipurpose room at Southside Baptist Church, 917 Carolina Road, Suffolk, VA  23434.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
