James "J. L." Lemuel Griggs' Obituary
James "J.L." Lemuel Griggs, Sr., age 70, died November 29, 2009 at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Isle of Wight the son of the late Thad Griggs and Elizabeth Griggs Jones. He was a retired Building Contractor.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bobbie Holland Griggs; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa G. Gray (Tommy) of Windsor, Jo Anne Wolford (Sammy) of Corapeake, NC and sons, James Lemuel Griggs, Jr. of Sedley, Alan W. Griggs of Windsor; three grandchildren, Joanne, Samuel, and Allison; a sister, Jean G. Leggett of Suffolk; and a brother, Edward Griggs of Georgia.
A special thank you is given to extended family member, Dawn Griggs, R.N. and Heartland hospice nurse, Becky Case, R.N.
Visitation will be held at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. A graveside service at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
