James Kenneth "Kenny" Martin Jr, 66, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020. He was born in Puerto Rico to the late Geraldine Keeter DeBerry and James Kenneth Martin Sr. He worked as an electrician transporter for IES Electric. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church where he served as a deacon, a member of the finance committee, volunteered for the night stay program and performed in the church's Last Supper drama. He was also past president of the Liberty Spring Ruritan Club, a member of the Izaak Walton League and a horseman, where he enjoyed his horse, Bandit.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Vicki Nelms Martin; sister, Dawn Darden (Rick); brothers, Wayne Martin (Linda) and Rob Martin (Tammy); brother in law, Leslie F. Nelms III; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenny's funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Suffolk Christian Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4:00 pm, Sunday, October 18 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Due to COVID-19, please adhere to all government mandates and follow the directions of the facility being entered. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the food pantry or music fund at Suffolk Christian Church.
