"Jimmy" Willis
January 4, 1927 – April 18, 2017
James Alvin "Jimmy" Willis, 90, passed away April 18, 2017. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Lydia Benton and James Harrison Willis. He is predeceased by his wife, Hazel Parrish Willis, daughter, Teresa W. Beasley and stepdaughter, Linda Fitzgerald. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Bailey. He later worked as a design engineer for Ferguson Mfg. Co. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church. Jimmy was a charter member of N.S.R.S. and Woodmen of the World member.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Shelby J. Willis; brother, Raymond R. Willis (Jennie); grandchildren, Tiffany J. Alexander (Shane), Brittany A. Willis and C. Jason Chappell; great grandchildren, Tanner, Ryker, Aaron, Cassidy, Austin, Makayla and Madisyn; and great, great grandson, Charlie.
A graveside service with military honors will be Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00p.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery with Revs. Raymond Hampton and Alan Cruz officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30–1:30p.m. prior the service in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer's and dementia research.
