James Elliott Griffin, 87, of Suffolk, VA passed away on January 26, 2010. A native of Nansemond County, VA he was the son of the late Horace David Griffin, Sr. and Mamie Horton Griffin and was also predeceased by his wife, Sadie Blanchard Griffin and niece, Brenda Story. James was a Farmer and a School Bus Driver driving buses for 31 years in the Whaleyville, Suffolk and Nansemond County areas. He was a lifelong member of Great Fork Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Frances Story of Charlotte, NC and his brother, Horace David Griffin, Jr. of Suffolk; nieces and nephews; Becky Hall, Michael and David Griffin and Debbie Manuel.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with Dr. Donald Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
