James Matthew Edwards, 86, of Windsor, VA passed away on
December 14, 2012. A native of Isle of Wight County, VA he was the son of the late Lucy Brown Edwards and Lafayette Jackson Edwards. He was also predeceased by his wife, Thelma Campbell Edwards and great grandson Willie Trent, Jr. James was a retired farmer and a part-time handyman at Windsor Manor.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucy Ann Edwards Martin of Windsor; sons, James Shelton Edwards of Carrollton, Herbert Lee Edwards of Remseck, Germany and Robert Matthew Edwards of Smithfield; sister, Lola Gibbs; brothers, Clarence Edwards and Morris Edwards; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Russell Leonard officiating. Friends may join the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for visitation. Memorial donations may be given to Windsor Vol. Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 636, Windsor, VA 23487 or Windsor Vol. Fire Dept. P. O. Box 601, Windsor, VA 23487. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
