James "Jim" Angelo Amici, 66, of Suffolk, VA passed away June 3, 2007. He was born in Welch, West Virginia the son of Amedeo Armondo Amici, Sr. and Virginia Marnelli Amici. Jim retired as a supervisor for the City of Norfolk Department of Social Services. He was a member of the Right to Life Organization of Virginia. He was predeceased by his father and brother, Amedeo Armondo Amici, Jr.
Jim was known for his love of music, his compassionate heart, and willingness to comfort anyone in need.
Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth Amici of Suffolk, VA; mother, Virginia Amici; daughter and son-in-law, Mia and Ken Coltrane of Memphis, TN; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Colette Amici of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kenneth Amici of Charleston, W. VA; grandchildren, Autumn Alexandra Amici, Forrest Gage Amici, Molly Elizabeth Coltrane, and Samantha Kathryn Coltrane; brother, Jerry Anthony Amici of Burlington, VT; and a host of loving friends from far and wide.
A Mass will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Father Piotr Bialkowski officiating. Burial will be at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery. Rosary will be held Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with a time of viewing and visitation following the service. Friends may join the family other times at the residence.
