Portsmouth, Virginia, welcomed James Thomas "Jamie" Alexander into the world on July 13, 1979. On August 22, 2026, at the age of 47, James left this world in Fairfax, Virginia, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and passion that will inspire all who knew him.

A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, James' life was marked by his unwavering dedication to those he loved and the pursuits he cherished. For 26 beautiful years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Kristen Alexander, with whom he built a loving family and a home filled with joy and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Spencer, Zackery, and Madalynn, with good Christian values.

James' professional life was defined by excellence and commitment. As a truck salesman for East Coast Truck & Trailer, he was not just a salesman but the best—earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His passion for his work was matched only by his enthusiasm for his hobbies, which included coin collecting—a pursuit in which he became a successful numismatist—fishing, and hunting. He was an esteemed member of the Bent Barrel Hunt Club and brought a sense of camaraderie and joy to all his adventures.

A lover of animals, especially turtles and tortoises, James' kindness extended beyond human connections to the natural world, where he found peace and solace.

Preceded in death by his father, Tommy W. Alexander; second father, Paul Spencer Abbott; grandmothers, Estelle Porter and Helen Alexander; parents-in-law, Charles Nasby Murphy and Susan Elaine Murphy; and grandparents-in-law, Arthur Phillip Clark and Opal Virginia Clark, James is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.

He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: his wife, Kristen; their children, Spencer, Zackery, and Madalynn; his mother, Diana Alexander-Abbott; his brother, Gene Alexander; his sister, Shirley Hodges (Kevin); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched.

A celebration of James' life will be held at noon on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Rivers United Church, Carrsville, Virginia, with Pastor John Hunter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, continuing James' legacy of kindness and caring to support others.

In remembering James, we honor a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit and positivity will forever guide those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
