Jacqueline Marie Whitley Lassiter, born on November 1, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, peacefully departed this life on May 21, 2026, in Hillsborough, North Carolina, at the age of 76.
Jacqueline was a dedicated cosmetologist who shared her talents with patrons at Magic Touch, where she practiced her craft with care and commitment. Throughout her life, she touched many with her gentle spirit and warm demeanor. Later in life, she worked at the Holiday House for children with special needs in Portsmouth, Virginia; cooking and serving the children, and that seemed to bring her great joy. She was always a wonderful cook, and did it with love every time. She also enjoyed karaoke, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Percy Everette Whitley Sr. and Marie Rider Whitley; husband, Robert Winston Lassiter Sr; brother, Franklin Raymond Whitley; and step brother, Terry Smith.
Jacqueline leaves behind a loving family to treasure her memory, including her loving companion of 26 years, Richard "Rick" Sherwood; her sons, Ray W. Lassiter and Ricky W. Lassiter; her brother, Percy E. Whitley Jr. and his wife Diane; her stepsister, Connie Norton; her niece, Yvonne Whitley; along with numerous other nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her love and kindness.
The family invites friends to honor Jacqueline's life during a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
Jacqueline Whitley Lassiter will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
