J. Richard Forehand, 57, of Carrsville, VA passed away June 15, 2010. He was born in Edenton, NC the son of the late Ruth Perry Forehand and Melvin Spurgeon Forehand. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, John and Ella Mae Nixon Perry, whom he was very close to. Richard worked as a mechanical engineer and was a self employed HVAC-R technician.

Richard is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley S. Forehand; sons, Chris D. Bass, Michael R. Gomer, and John M. Williams; 5 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Thomas Bunch, Melva and Hugh West; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery with Chaplain Dick Dinges officiating. Friends may join the family Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence.
