J. Posie Edwards, Sr., 89, passed away December 16, 2014. He was born in Salem, VA the son of the late Elmer and Eure Edwards. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte E. Edwards. Posie was a United States Army veteran having served during WWII. He later went on to work and retire from Lone Star LaFarge as a salesman. He attended Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Posie is survived by his sons, Douglas G. Edwards and James P. Edwards, Jr.; sister, Martha A. Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Ruffin A. Alphin officiating.
