Ima Jean Rawls, 79, of Suffolk, VA passed away August 2, 2009. She was born in Edenton, NC the daughter of the late, Eula W. and Carrol W. Jordan. She was predeceased by her husband, Junious Thomas Rawls.


Jean is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda R. and Larry C. Bagwell of Chesapeake, VA, Gloria R. and Joseph Mack Byrum, Jr., Barbara Thorne, Linda R. and Ricky Whisonant all of Suffolk, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Junious T. "J.T." Rawls, Jr. and Dovie of Corapeake, NC; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Jessie Mae Carr, Doris Howell and husband, Jarvis, Sammy Jordan and wife Judy all of Suffolk, VA, Odell Jordan and wife Ann of Chesapeake, VA.


A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday night at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA from 7-8 p.m. and other times at the residence of Gloria and Joseph Byrum, 1409 Copeland Rd., Suffolk, VA.
