Hubert Lloyd Scott, Jr., 85, of Thaxton, VA passed away November 14, 2010. He was born in Lexington, VA the son of the late Clara Virginia Lam Scott and Hubert Lloyd Scott, Sr. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Isabelle Fix Scott. Hubert was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII and was a D-Day survivor. He later went on to serve as a manager for 40 years for the Southern States Corporation. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Thaxton, VA.
Hubert is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patti S. and Ray M. Winslow of Suffolk, VA, Linda S. and Richard A. Babb of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Jason Winslow and his wife, Nicole, Josh Winslow, Paige Babb, Karen Babb; great grandchildren, Jayden and Peyton; special neighbor and friend, Linda Clifford.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. John Bright and Rev. Joe Shoop officiating. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. with military honors at Timberidge Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lexington , VA. Friends may join the family Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Patti and Ray Winslow.
