Howard Earl Mays, aged 66, passed away on October 15, 2024. Born in Nansemond County, VA, he was the son of the late Oscar Ernest Mays and Helen Lou McClenny Mays. Howard was predeceased by his sister, Linda Jean Mays. He retired as an automotive mechanic and was a dedicated member of Windsor Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathy Lynn Cisco Mays; his children, Christy M. Askew and her partner Chad Collins, and David Earl Askew and his partner Mallory Host. He was a proud grandfather to Jocelyn A. Velezquez, Abby Collins, and Katie Collins, and a great-grandfather to Jasper. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Ann Settlemyer and Doris Lee Snyder, along with her husband Ronnie.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Clyde Alderman.
