Howard Franklin Boone, 92, of the Lake Prince Woods Retirement Community in Suffolk, Virginia passed to his eternal reward on Thursday, July 6, 2017.  He was born October 9, 1924 in Dante, Russell County, Virginia, the son of Joseph Charlie and Malala Catherine Tyler Boone.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Louise Worrell Boone and his brother Joseph David Boone of St. Paul, Virginia.  He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.  He served in Europe during World War II in the Army 118 ^th Infantry.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia Boone Weaver and her husband James of Mechanicsville, Virginia; his step-brother, Lee Otis Hall of Salem, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, July 12 ^th , at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Virginia with Rev. Michael Halley officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home.
