Herman Charles Broegeler, Jr., 84, of Zuni, VA passed away February 18, 2011 . He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late Maude E. Graham Broegeler and Herman C. Broegeler,Sr. He is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Martha Louise Cake Broegeler and a son Herman Charles Broegeler,III. Herman was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. In 1950s Herman was a Norfolk Police officer . Then had a long career as a mechanic , first at Southern Block Co., and later with E.V. Williams Paving Co. . In recent years he was self-employed as a woodworker and dealer in antiques before retiring in 2005.


Herman is survived by his daughters Beverly Miller of Currituck,NC and Diane Jones of Zuni,VA ; 4 grandchildren Sherry Miller, Henry Miller, Jr., Larry Miller and Carrie Miller all of Currituck,NC ; 7 great grandchildren Amanda ,Chelsea , Dawn, Tomas, Brittany, Trishna and David; 1 great great grandchild Hailee; sister Margaret Thomas of Currituck,NC .

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach with Sheriff Charles W. Phelps officiating. Friends may join the family Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA for a time of visitation.
