Obituary

Herbert Claxton Miller, 74, passed away on January 4, 2023. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Marjorie Stewart and Hersey Claxton Miller. He is also predeceased by his brother, John R. Miller. He worked and retired as an outside machinist for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was also a lifetime member of the Portsmouth Moose Lodge #898.

Herbert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jan Marie Vick Miller; sons, Douglas Allan Miller (Louann) and Nicholas James Miller (Rhonda); sister, Marjorie M. Pool (Larry); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert's celebration of life will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11 a.m at Calvary Baptist Missionary Church with Pastor Stephen Kennedy officiating. Visitation will follow after the service. Friends may visit the family at their residence at other times. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Calvary Baptist Missionary Church.
