Helen W. Hunnicutt, 97, passed away January 8, 2017 in her home. She was born December 20, 1919 in Surry County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma McGuriman Hunnicutt. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Howard, Arthur, Thomas and Douglas Hunnicutt, and two sisters Leo H. Addison and Doris H. Ellis. Survivors include a special nephew, Jim Hunnicutt and wife, Virginia, and several other nieces and nephews.

Ms. Hunnicutt went to Washington D.C. in March of 1942 and worked for the Federal Government under U.S. Civil Service. She moved to the Pentagon in December 1942 when it opened and worked there the rest of her career. She retired in June of 1971 and moved in her house in Driver and lived there the rest of her life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Joseph Glazebrook officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
