Helen Bailey Griffin, 90, of Suffolk, VA passed away January 15, 2008. She was born in Southampton County, VA the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Bailey and Mabel Harvell Bailey. She was also predeceased by her husband, David Marshall Griffin and her brother, Joseph Harvell Bailey. Helen was co-owner and bookkeeper of Dave's Tire and Recapping. She was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church. Helen was most proud of piloting a J-3 Piper Cub airplane.


Helen is survived by her sister, Laurie "Laura" B. Newsome of Suffolk, VA; brother and sister-in-law, George Cary and Johanna S. Bailey of Grottoes, VA; sister-in-law, Doris E. Bailey of Suffolk, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Don Rosie officiating. Friends may join the family Friday night from 6-7 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at her residence.
