Hazel Nell Lee Castleberry, 84 of Smithfield, VA passed away on March 3, 2010. A native
Freemont, NC she was the daughter of the late Fitzhugh Lee and Myra Williams Lee. Nell was an avid bridge player, seamstress extraordinaire and had a great love for poodles and other animals. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jesse Battle Castleberry, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Carolyn Castleberry of Smithfield, Lee and Maria Castleberry of Smithfield; grandchildren, Camille Leigh Castleberry, Monique Reveal, Amanda Brentlinger, Anthony Brentlinger; and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Uzzell United Methodist Church, 15363 Uzzells Church Road, Smithfield, VA with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Isle of Wight Humane Society, P. O. Box 273, Smithfield, VA 23431.
