Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Hayden Mickey Moffitt, who departed this world on July 2, 2026, at the age of 20. Born on July 1, 2006, in Norfolk, Virginia, Hayden's life was marked by boundless energy, adventurous spirit, and a zest for living every moment to its fullest.

Hayden grew up in Suffolk, where he developed a love for all things thrilling and adventurous. He was a proud graduate of Kings Fork High School and pursued his passion for adventure by becoming scuba certified, diving into the depths of marine wonder with the same enthusiasm he brought to all his endeavors.

Professionally, Hayden was a dedicated scaffold builder with AMP United, known for his exceptional work ethic and camaraderie on the job. Outside of work, his interests were as varied as they were exhilarating. Hayden found joy in wakeboarding through his father and Poppy, skateboarding, video gaming via livestream, and traveling, always seeking the next adrenaline rush. He embraced life with an open heart, whether skydiving through the clouds or exploring the mysteries of the underwater world.

Hayden's untimely passing in a motorcycle accident in Norfolk has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving parents, Heather Ann Switzer Moffitt and Brandon Lee Moffitt; adored sister, Coralynn Rain Moffitt; cherished brothers, Colson Lee Moffitt and Owen Nathaniel Hottenstein; maternal grandparents, Terence and Karen Switzer; paternal grandparents, Mickey and Patty Moffitt, and Deborah and Kenneth Courtney; beloved aunts, Jennifer Switzer and Kristin Switzer; uncles, Justin Switzer and Reese Moffitt; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

A celebration of Hayden's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the family residence, with Chaplain Nicholas Lombardi officiating. In honor of Hayden's passion for motorcycles, a memorial ride will commence at 5:45 pm at Kings Fork High School. All who wish to celebrate Hayden’s life and legacy are warmly invited.

In lieu of flowers, please live life to the fullest and keep Hayden in your hearts. His adventurous spirit and love for life will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
