Harriet Dunwoody Marx, 83, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away May 7, 2007. She was born in New York the daughter of the late Anna and Peter Dunwoody. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Schwartz; second husband, John Marx; daughter, Patricia Staley; and son, James Schwartz. Harriet retired as a telephone operator. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Harriet is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur J. and Carol Schwartz of Yonkers, NY, Peter J. Schwartz of Ossining, NY, John J. Marx, Sr. and Paula Marx of Suffolk, VA and Robert Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

A Mass will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Piotr Bialkowski officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A Christian Wake will be held Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with a time of visitation following the service. Friends may join the family other times at the residence of John J. Marx, Sr. at 1209 Parker Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434.
