Harold Jordan Lankford, 90, passed on January 7, 2022.  He was born in Nansemond County, VA, the son of the late Clyde Winfield Lankford, Sr. and Nina Lillian Holland Lankford.  He is predeceased by his wife, Sarah Kennie Lowe Lankford; daughter, Lillian Anne Lankford Hurley; grandson, John Thomas Knox, siblings, Sallie Bilby and Clyde Lankford, Jr.; and son-in-law, Thomas Burks Knox.  Harold was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later retired as a research technician for the Tidewater Research Station.  He was a lifelong member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Shirley Knox Houston (Robert); grandchildren, Dana Hurley, Eric Knox (Carrie); great-grandchildren, Emmett Knox and Hannah Knox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Ruffin Alphin officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Western Branch Baptist Church or Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
