Obituary

Harold Thomas Clark born September 1, 1942 passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007 after a brief illness. He was a graduate of Smithfield High School and Old Dominion College. Mr. Clark was owner and president of Smithfield's most successful John Deere dealership. Later in his esteemed life he was the logistics project manager for District Facilities Management Co. for the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD. Harold continued his successful sales career with John Deer until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur R. Clark, Sr. and Doris B. Clark, his beloved daughter Sala Maria Clark, his sister, Nancy L. Clark, and his brother, Paul Clark.

He is survived by two loving sons, Kenneth N. Clark, his lovely wife Marie, Kirk M. Clark, and his beautiful wife Gena and adorable granddaughter, Hannah; four brothers, Arthur R. Clark, Jr., Stanley G. Clark, Keith L. Clark, and Raleigh A. Clark; sister, Doris Armentrout; and his cherished friends Carter and Connie Williams.

Harold was a life member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Smithfield Union Lodge No. 18 AF&AM. He was a member of the Army Reserve and Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield, VA. Harold dedicated his life to actively serving local community organizations and was always available to lend a helping hand for charitable fundraisers, especially those benefiting youth activities. Harold was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and a caring and affectionate friend to all. He was an avid outdoorsman who freely shared his unending passion and knowledge for hunting and fishing with all who knew him. Harold was a life member of Smithfield Hunt Club.

Visitation will be Saturday evening at Trinity United Methodist Church from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department at P.O.
