Rev. Gregory Schaefer Ryan, 54, passed away May 31, 2017.  He was born in Denver, Colorado.  He served as the former minister of Oakland Christian Church and was actively involved in the community.

Gregory is survived by his wife of 19 years, Theresa Ann Schaefer Ryan; mother, Gloria Cain (Russ); father, Gregory Ryan (Yona); daughters and sons-in-law, Justine Sadwick (Ryan), and Kate Cohen (Cerrone); grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Jacob, Eden, Alice, Glory, Emilia; sister and brother-in-law, Karen Fletcher (John); brother, John Ryan; nieces, Callie and Katie Fletcher; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Oakland Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Edward Davis, and Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating.  Friends may join the family for a visitation Sunday night from 6-9 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  At 7:30 p.m. there will be a time of remembrance during the visitation.  Inurnment will be at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, FL.  In lieu of flowers,  donations may be made to Coalition Against Poverty Suffolk at P.O.
