Grace Ward White, of Suffolk, VA passed away on February 21, 2009. A native of Chowan County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Caleb Ward and Victoria Parks Ward. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Joe White; son, Colin G. White; sisters, Avis Nixon and Geneva Moore; and brothers, Fermer, Elmer and Edward Ward. Grace retired as the Director of the Dietary Department at Nansemond Convalescent Home and was a companion aide to Anna Goode Turner. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, the West Memorial Ladies Class and made exquisite handmade quilts.

She is survived by her daughter, Bettie W. Pierce of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert N. White (Anne) of Suffolk, Elbert W. White (Betty) of Charlottesville, Joe White (Carmen) of Grundy and Clifton A. White of Norfolk; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, including a special great grandchild, Victoria Grace Harmon; 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk followed by a Graveside Service, officiated by Rev.
