Grace Cross Pearce Bangley, 72, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007. She was born in Suffolk the daughter of the late Virgie Marie and William Thomas Pearce. Grace retired in 2000 from the Nursing Administraton Department at Obici Hospital. She continued to work there in Human Resources until 2006. In her spare time Grace quilted and donated the blankets to terminally ill children at Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randelman, NC. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and the West Memorial Class.


She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Louis Bangley, Sr.; daughters and son-in-law, Grace Louise and Gary M. Werkheiser of Corapeake, NC, Nancy Marie Bangley of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Louis Bangley, Jr. and Sandra B. Bangley of Suffolk, John Thomas and Kathleen M. Bangley of Winterhaven, FL, Bruce Edward and Tonya T. Bangley of Suffolk; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Miller, Colleen M. Werkheiser, W. Jason Yost, Jonathan L. Yost, Karen Melissa Bangley, Sarah J. Bangley, Geoffrey T. Bangley, Rebecca M. Bangley, Mary Grace E. Bangley and Christopher A. Butler; great grandchildren, Tanner L. Yost, Kaleb R. Miller, and David J. Beamon.


A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Suffolk Christian Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at Suffolk Christian Church and other times at the residence.
