Gladys L. Pearce, 69, of Disputanta passed away on April 1, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Church Road, VA she was the daughter of the late Jennings Franklin and Ola Mae Guthrie Lamm and was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Gertrude Perkinson, Ann Elder; and brother-in-law, Alfred Williams. Mrs. Pearce was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Billy B. Pearce; daughter, Debbie Hughes Edwards, sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Allen Hughes, Thomas Wayne Hughes (Joy), and Billy R. Pearce (JoAnna); 15 grandchildren, Sherri Schwartz (Russell), Courtney Edwards, Chasidy Hughes, A.J. Hughes, Shanna Hughes, Chelsea Hughes, Whitlee Hughes, Sean Funai, R.J. Funai, Alyssa Funai, Brandon Pearce, Mackenzie Pearce, Madison Pearce, Brandon Zanalotti, and Courtney Smith; 1 great grandchild, Ryan Schwartz; sister, Lois Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank "Bubba" Lamm (Margo), and Willie Lamm (Nancy); and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 9 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Jenkins officiating. Friends may join the family Thursday night for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 22218 Dabney Mill Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803 and other times at the residence.
