Gladys Ann Lewis Ellis Saunders, 82, passed away February 9, 2019.  She was born in Nansemond County, VA the daughter of the late John Burnley Lewis and Savannah Georgia Harrell Lewis.  Gladys was predeceased by her first husband, Carroll Holt Ellis and second husband, Edward Hubert Saunders, Sr.  She was also predeceased by her daughter, Betty Saunders; son, John Ellis; 2 grandchildren; and brother, John Marvin Lewis.  She was formerly a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, JoeAnna Smith, Judy Griggs (Gary), Alice Musselman; son, Carroll Thomas Ellis; 7 step children; 9 grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and brother, Thomas Lewis (Anna).

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating.  Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a visitation Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
