Obituary

George Thomas Wyatt Jr, "Tommy", was born September 3, 1943 in Portsmouth VA, to the late George Thomas Wyatt Sr. and Ella Mae Wyatt. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School (1963), where he was a member of the Cross Country Track Team (1962), as well as a student in the Vocational School Program (1963). He was employed by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for many years before starting his own business, Tidewater Automotive Paint & Equipment. Tommy started the Virginia Chevy Lover's Car Club, which became a very popular vintage car club with hundreds of members, and remained the president of the club for many years. He will be remembered for his deep love of vintage Chevys, watching rodeos, for his love for his dogs, and for having the talent to rebuild old cars from a rusted out shell to a beautiful machine that looked like it just came off of the showroom floor. If he didn't have a tool in his hand and grease on his overalls, it must not have been him!

He is preceded in death by his brother, Dan K. Wyatt and his partner, Betty Vaughn. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Perdue (Dexter), and Jennifer Ricketts (Steve); his grandchildren, Matthew T. Perdue Sr. (Jamie), Casey Darrah (Lauren), Chad Ricketts, Kaitlyn Ricketts, and Ella Ricketts; and great grandchildren, Kole Gordon, Coby Jennings, Matthew Perdue Jr, Marty Darrah, and Samantha Darrah.
